Ethical Recruiting: The explosion in use of focus, music, and other types of group research has created knotty challenges for companies who pre-recruit respondents. Client demands, budget constraints, and growing competition have brought prices down, but too often at the expense of quality.

Database Recruiting: Database recruiting has become dominant, but poorly policed and over used databases attract "professional" respondents. Sadly, books and video tapes are now available on "How to Become a Professional Respondent!" and the newspapers are filled with ads encouraging this practice.
